Natural Earth Paint™ Impasto Medium is made from powdered limestone and used by artists to thicken oil paints naturally. Free from toxins and preservatives, it's an economical way to extend the quantity of paint.

• Historical accuracy - Impasto has been used for centuries to create a thick textured paint, often used with a palette knife to apply to the canvas. Many of Van Gogh's paintings feature the deliberate brushstrokes of thick oils using the impasto technique. 
• Drying effect on oil paints - This gives the textured ridges characteristic of this technique. Suitable for use with Natural Earth Oil Paint™, but not acrylic paint.
• Transparent when dry - Although it looks white when mixed and can appear to lighten pigments, it dries transparent, creating a luminous effect.

How to use Impasto Medium: Mix the required amount of impasto limestone medium with walnut oil or linseed oil using a palette knife before mixing with your oil paints.
