Zaytoun Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Zaytoun Palestinian Extra Virgin Olive Oil - First Cold PressedĀ
Rooted in time and tradition, Zaytoun Palestinian Extra Virgin Olive Oil comes from olives grown on the stone terraces of sun-drenched hillsides in the West Bank.Ā
These ancient olive trees are regarded as old friends by the Palestinian families who tend them, providing a deep-rooted link to the land and their ancestors. Caring for these trees requires knowledge passed from generation to generation, and they are treated with love and care so they can continue to produce a bountiful harvest for the families children and grandchildren.Ā
Why doesn't Zaytoun Olive Oil have Organic and Fairtrade certifications anymore?
You may have noticed that the Organic Soil Association and Fair Trade certifications are no longer displayed Zaytoun Olive Oil cans and bottles. This is because the certifying bodies have withdrawn from Palestine over safety and security concerns. While the label has changed, the oil inside remains the same; fruity, peppery, and fairly made. At Babipur, we've chosen to continue supporting the resilient Palestinian farmers who rely on the olive harvest for their livelihoods, even in the temporary absence of the certification marks.Ā
Zaytoun Palestinian Extra Virgin Olive Oil is created from rain-fed, hand picked olives, first cold-pressed. This produces an oil of exceptional taste and quality, with a gentle pepperiness and fresh, fruity aroma. Winner of The Great Taste Awards 2022.Ā
