Gwen van Knippenberg is a Dutch illustrator and artist based in Amstelveen, where she lives with her family and two cats. Her work is characterised by soft, flowing lines and a muted, dreamlike palette, using pencil, ink, gouache, watercolours, and coloured pencils to create gentle, atmospheric imagery.
Her inspiration comes from the beauty of nature and the innocence of childhood, often depicting graceful ballerinas, peaceful resting children, and tranquil water scenes bathed in soft light.
